Not a chef. Not an artist.
Just a well fed doodler.

Kimmie is a Chicago based doodler.

A stay at home mom who dabbles in cooking, baking, and doodling.

I am not totally sure what this is, or where it is going, but I have loved drawing birth cards for friends new babies, creating things for my children, and doodling.

For the past few years I have been creating hand made ornaments. I have done it all through google forms and email. When asked if I had a website, I would direct them to my portfolio, which I still love, and told them a website will be in the works when things calm down.

Well 3 years later and nothing has calmed down, if anything it has only gotten busier. But a website is here. And while it will likely change as I work through this, I hope that it allows me to create more for others.

“Describes my aesthetic as Southern California tomboy on the Upper East side”

Background

I was born and raised in the idyllic northern part of San Diego. After high school, instead of heading to the dorms and classes of upper education, I packed my bags and had a one way ticket to Europe. I traveled for a little and then settled in Granada, Spain where I studied Spanish. I returned stateside to study Finance and Spanish at the University of Arizona for four years, with a stint in Vina Del Mar, Chile, for a semester abroad. Our first night in Vina was the night of the 8.8 earthquake just outside of nearby Santiago. Before returning to Southern California for a position at an investment firm, I spent time in Park City, Utah, skiing, hiking, and seeing as many Sundance films as possible.  I spent 3 years in finance before jumping around in production, cooking school, and design. Eventually we landed in Chicago and have survived a pandemic, 2 children, and Chicago winters.
